Chapter I · The Origin

A sixth grader rewrote history.

In the late 1990s a young boy finished Animal Farm by George Orwell and closed the book furious. The good animals lost. The revolution was stolen. The kind and just pig — full of idealism and vision — was chased off the farm.

He refused to accept that ending. So he wrote a continuation — a full book — where kind and just animals returned and took back what was theirs.

That boy was Vlad Tenev. He grew up to co-found Robinhood with one radical mission: democratize finance for all. And then he built a blockchain network and opened it to the world.

A community read the interview. Connected the dots. And put the story on-chain.

The story he wrote in sixth grade never got published. But the values behind it — justice, equality, community — now live permanently on the network he built.
